DEPENDABILITY & ADDITIONAL SERVICES

Dependability (Availability & Reliability)

Higher Availability, Reliability and Maintainability (ARM) offers both increased operational capability and reduced support costs.  Poor ARM characteristics can result in reduced operational effectiveness of a system, a greater risk of accidents and higher cost of ownership as well as a considerable reduction in customer satisfaction.  Good ARM characteristics are inherent in a design and cannot be a last minute add-on.  Safer Systems has experience of applying key standards, such as Defence Standards 00-25, 00-40, 00-41, 00-42, 00-43, 00-44, Military Standards 1629, 470 and British Standard BS5760.

  • Formulation of a cost effective Dependability Strategy and Programme
  • Production and use of appropriate R&M Requirements based on stakeholder needs and trade-offs

  • R&M Modelling and Prediction

  • R&M trade off studies

  • Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) and Fault Tree Analysis

  • Reliability-Centred Maintenance

  • Reliability Testing and Demonstration Trials

  • Defect / Data Reporting and Corrective Action Systems (DRACAS)

Production of System R&M Assurance documentation (e.g. R&M Case Report, Software Reliability Case)

Project & Bid Support

Safer Systems can support your project in providing quality documentation including:

  • Operating & Support Manuals
  • General Project as well as Safety & Dependability Bid Documents
  • Risk Management

Environmental Safety

Environmental impact is an important issue across the globe, with pressure to minimize that impact coming from many sources, including governments, supply chains and other stakeholders. An Environmental Management System (EMS) provides you with a framework for managing environmental responsibilities efficiently in a way that is integrated into your overall operations.

ISO 14001 is the cornerstone standard of the ISO 14000 series (related standards include BS7750 and EMAS). It specifies a framework of control for an EMS against which an organisation can be certified by a third party. Safer Systems can assist with:

  • Development of new Environmental Management Systems, including Technical Procedures for Environmental Risk Management
  • Environmental Management Planning

  • Environmental Impact Assessment
  • Disposal Planning

  • Environmental Audits

  • Stakeholder and Standards Identification
